Training went well yesterday and things are starting to happen.
Tomorrow, we have a welcoming ceromony at the village to welcome
Chile. The next day we have a presentation of our flag at the Chilean
Embassy in Beijing. The next day after that, we have the opening
ceremonies. And three days after that, I race.

I have been having trounble accessing my website, I think I have found
a solution and I will try and add photos after I take some more today.

Cheers

Well, sorry ya'll for not writing sonner, had some technical dificulties. All is well now. So what have I been up to?

After a long flight, about 13 hours flying time, I arrived in Beijing jet laged and relieved to have arrived finaly in China. It took a bit longer than I expected to get through customs. It was a bit confusing with so many people. There was a special lane for Olympic Athletes and officials but a whole bunch of us arrived at the same time and I was at the back of the line.

Got through that and then it took a long time to get my boat and luggage but no worry, I walked out to find Pablo waiting for. Pablo, not me, used to be a competitor and is now an official, this is his 5th olympics. He is a cool guy.

So then we had to go leave my boat at the course before going to the olympic village. This took a while, the Village is about an hour from the course. This had to be done and it was all good, the only bad thing was that I was in desperate need of a shower. A little later I got it once arriving at the Village. I will tell more of the village soon, I will now go eat dinner. So

Cheers

I have been tired. I am back to a wonderful home. Some friends came over last night to play Cranium. Had a wonderful time. After the long trip in Europe, I arrived with a lot of dirty clothes, all better now, clean and smelling good.

I have 6 days before I leave for Beijing, so if you want to call me, do so because I will be gone for a month. I return the 25th after the closing ceremonies. Crazy I must admit. I will look forward to returning to rest a little from all these competitions.

I guess I am also not as excited as I should be for going. I think once I get on the plane, I will be excited, I know I will be. Now, I am a little excited, sure. But I have my mind on many other things at the moment like preparing. My new boat is not ready yet, today I should put in the extra weight it needs.

For competition, the kayaks need to weigh 9 kilos. My boat new weighs 8.2 kilos. In these previous three days, I attached thigh braces. I had both sides good I thought, then I had to change one side because the thigh brace was to far to the left. Then I did not attach it perfectly and it broke. So it is now fixed and ready for competition, well the thigh braces are at least.

Well, thats enough for now

cheers

As i sit sit on the grass in La Seu de Urgell, I look forward to tomorrow for when my cousin Nicolas and his wife Pili will come to visit and watch me race. They are also bringing some friends. My friends that live here in Seu are also coming for the race. I am very excited and I hope I can deliver a good performance. I am not ready to not make it into the top 40 like the past three races. I really want to do well and having close friends and family here should help me.

Well, wish me luck at this next race, it is the last one before the olympics.

Cheers
